The Perfect Peel

Acne/Acne Scarring is one of the most popular skin concerns that is treated with The Perfect Peel. The Glutathione helps increase cell turnover to improve the appearance of acne scars. Recommendations for the number of treatments will be determined at the point of consultation. It usually requires 2-4 peels with approx. 1 month between each treatment for the best results.

Face, neck, chest and hands are the most common areas, however, The Perfect Peel can be applied to other areas of the body, however, the process /results will not necessarily be the same.

The Perfect Peel founds itself on a key anti-aging ingredient never before used in a peel: Glutathione. Glutathione is the ultimate antioxidant, penetrating deep into the cellular level of the skin to fight oxidant damage and is the anti-aging answer to premature wrinkling. Our bodies naturally produce glutathione but as we age, our levels deplete due to sun exposure, air pollutants, environmental stress and the aging process itself. Glutathione is also proven to reverse melanin’s metabolism, lightening dark pigmentations.

The Perfect Peel blends glutathione, kojic acid, TCA, retinoic acid, salicylic acid, phenol, and a blend of minerals and vitamins, including vitamin C. Kojic acid is a powerful lightening agent and proven to increase collagen and elastin production, resulting in skin that is brighter and tighter. TCA, phenol and retinoic acid reduce wrinkles and correct pigment problems, while salicylic acid exfoliates the skin and reduces inflammation. Alone the ingredients are powerful, but in combination they produce results that are astonishing.

Will I need to prepare my skin prior to treatment?

No preparation is required, however those who use any medical treatment or medications for Acnes will need to stop using 6 months before the first treatment (this will be discussed at your consultation). We advise that you do not expose your skin to the sun prior to treatment

Does the Perfect peel treatment hurt?

During the treatment you may experience a slight stinging sensation which will only last a few seconds. Your skin will numb once the Perfect Peel solution has been applied.

How long does the Perfect Peel treatment take?

The treatment is approximately 15 minutes long.

How many Perfect Peel treatments are required?

You will see results after just 1 treatment, including overall improved skin tone and complexion, with a glowing and fresh look. Further treatments maybe required depending on the condition of your skin, however this can be discussed at your initial consultation or after your first Perfect Peel treatment. From experience, those with more severe skin conditions, such as active acne, require an additional 1-2 monthly treatments maybe required.

How long will the results last?

We always advise on a good skin care regime post treatment to ensure the results from your treatment last as long as possible and can advise on products available from our Grove Clinical range. It is advised to have 2-3 Perfect Peel treatments every year to maintain the results.

What will I experience after the Perfect Peel solution is applied?

Once the treatment has been completed your skin will appear red, similar to the look of sunburn. Peeling of the skin will begin 3 days after the initial treatment and will be completed 3-4 days. You will be supplied with a Perfect Peel home care moisutriser to hydrate the skin and reduce the visibility of the peeling. 7 days after the initial treatment the peeling process will be finished and the full results will be visible. Your skin will be more sensitive during the peeling process until the PH level is replenished.

Will I need to take any precautions after the treatment?

Avoid exposure to the sun, before and during the peel process. We don’t recommend any exercise or anything that will result in excessive sweating during the peeling process. No make-up or other products to be applied on your face on the day of the treatment. We advise waiting until day 2 of the peeling process before wearing any make-up.  You will be given an individual home treatment pack containing retinol wipes and a vitamin C moisturiser to assist the peeling process and enhance your results.
