If you’re considering getting a chemical peel, great! A chemical peel can help improve the overall appearance and texture of your skin.
Overall we’d say that during the Autumn & Winter months is the best time to have a chemical peel.
Over the summer months your skin is exposed to the sun more and therefore getting a peel post-summer will exfoliate the skin, removing dry and damaged skin from your face.
During the colder months, as there is less moisture in the air your skin will feel a lot drier. A chemical peel will leave your skin feeling rejuvenated, moisturised, activating new healthy skin cells.
For those opting for a higher level chemical peel (The Perfect Peel), patients are advised to not expose their skin to the sun during the peeling process, therefore making the Autumn/Winter months easier to manage this process.
Our mild chemical peels are suitable for all year round, as this is a superficial treatment that removes the upper layers of the epidermis. Some patients may experience a slight flaking of the skin. As with all of our treatments, we’d always advise staying out of the direct sun afterwards and ALWAYS use an spf to protect your skin. However, if you are looking at getting the treatment during the summer months, a mild chemical peel really isn’t a problem
With all of our treatments, also be mindful of any downtime as with our higher level Chemical Peels a period of up to 7 days should be allowed for the peeling process to take place.
